Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her help and commitment to improving South African Social Security Company (SASSA) solutions for the duration of an engagement while using the agency's senior administrators at a strategic organizing session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the various social grant beneficiaries, who excelled within the 2024 matric examinations.
Of the 724 156 full-time learners who registered to the National Senior Certificate (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, symbolizing 81% on the registered pupils while in the education sector.
These learners attained a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This means the expenditure government is building from the life of poor and vulnerable kids is yielding a beneficial impact in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe explained.
Reflecting on recent achievements, the Minister highlighted essential milestones and ongoing priorities. She dedicated to urgently addressing the issue of lasting leadership appointments plus the lack of personnel at most regional places of work.
Moreover, the Minister read more highlighted the need for Local community-based engagements and outreach activities.
"Our community is expecting our enormous intensification of Neighborhood outreach, the place we prioritise underserved spots to deliver expert services nearer to website our people today," she reiterated.
With regards to SASSA systems, Tolashe urged administration to prioritise enhancing and modernising methods to enhance accessibility, queue management and forestall here fraud.
